Pepsi - free, that's me

Today is day 2 of No Pepsi. Yay me!! I'm so proud of myself. :) :)

Lest you think too highly of me, let me clarify that I'm not giving it up because it's unhealthy, nor because of the caffeine. I desperately want to lose weight and I think Pepsi is the first step. I'd like to have another baby next year but I really must get in better shape first. This last pregnancy really did me in.

We took G to the dentist today. He was very nice, very good with her. I was so anxious I thought I might faint right there if she jumped but she was very good. It must not have hurt because she lay perfectly still through the numbing and the drilling. Now my sweetie pie has a stainless steel crown on her molar, which she is *very* proud of. The tooth won't have to be pulled, and the swelling in her mouth has gone down considerably.

Busy day on Saturday

G had been complaining of tooth pain for the past several days. I'd been giving her homeopathic teething medicine, which wasn't helping. I suspected she had a molar coming in because when she pointed to where the pain was, it was back in her gums behind her teeth.

Saturday morning she awoke with a face which was tremendously swollen on one side. It was huge and misshapen, hot and tender to the touch. We called our dentist who said it was most likely a cavity that had gone to the nerve and become an abcess. He called in a prescription for antibiotics and will see her on Tuesday. She's starting to feel better today, and the swelling is slowly going down, but it's been a rough few days and she has been in a lot of pain.

P and I went to the Utah Livestock Auction and came home 4 animals richer. We added a calf, two sheep, and a horse to our barnyard collection, which previously consisted of a llama, Shetland pony, 10-ish chickens, a rooster, 2 geese, a bunch of ducks, 2 goats, a family of rabbits, and a puppy. Whew. I think we're done for a while.

We had to scramble to get ready and then took T with us to the Utah Symphony's performance of Beethoven's 9th. I originally intended to write a lot about the Symphony, but suffice it to say that it was the most incredible, beautiful music I've ever heard in my life.

Growing babies

Both of the twins stood alone today! They've done it before for a second or two, but today it was several seconds before they fell down. I've promised them once they can walk they'll get to play outside of the "corral".

Praise to the Man

Tonight Phil and I saw the most incredible production at BYU, Praise to the Man. It's a tribute to Joseph Smith, the first modern day prophet of the LDS church, and it was truly moving. My dear grandfather was one of the participants. If you get a chance to listen to this on KBYU, don't miss it. It was truly incredible, both the oration and the music.

1. Phil and I have a new project underway. It's still under construction but you can see it at www.jewelry-for-adoption.com

2. I have not got up early even once since reading that article.

3. Naiya has a birthday party tomorrow and I still haven't bought the stuff. And I have a meeting all morning before the party.

4. The little girl from Guatemala is no longer on the photolisting. I'm happy for her, and sad for me.

5. I think our Samoan adoption is really, truly not going to happen.
